Every digital storefront uses the same three-tier structure. All tiers contain the identical base game — the ladder exists purely for bonus kits and Early Adopter bonuses.

The kits are cosmetic-and-charm content: outfits, sword appearances and charms. The charms (such as Lion Dog and the Deluxe trio) affect gameplay by granting special effects; the outfits and sword skins are appearance only.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword is not part of any subscription catalog. The Xbox listing is explicit: cloud playable with Game Pass Essential, Premium or Ultimate, but game purchase required — the subscription provides the streaming channel, never the license.

For undecided buyers the free demo remains the cheapest possible due diligence: it covers the opening of Kyoto and the full defensive toolkit, and it was still available on storefronts after launch.
